As the CDC has recommended there be no gatherings of groups more than 10 people for the next 8 weeks, as schools and dance studios close, and as we wait to hear new guidelines from the government, we have had to cancel both Pleiades Dance Concert in the Park and Kinship. We want to give special thanks to all our season 3 sponsors and donors who helped us present our new work Wald Tellurian at the Breaking Ground Contemporary Dance Festival this year, and who helped us create MOOD ROOM, our series of six short dance films we will soon be sharing with you on all our social platforms!
We have been in the studio rehearsing both shows and have many more new works we can’t wait to share with our Tucson community! As we said before, the shows must not go on for now, but we will! We’re already planning fun and exciting ways we can present our works to you once we are able to hit the stage again!
If you’re looking for a way to support us at this time, please consider making a donation! It is our priority to take care of the dancers who have put so much time, effort, and love into the shows. You can also support us by signing up for our email list so you can stay in-the-know when we are able to hold performances again!
We have received many messages of love and solidarity. As devastating as these cancellations are, I have to say that I can’t remember a time when I have held this much gratitude in my heart. Thank you to all our friends, fans, family members, sponsors, and donors! We’ll see you soon, and it will be such a sweet reunion!
With Love and Gratitude,
Pleiades and Kinship: both shows cancelled
Hawkinsdance presents a series of six short dance films exploring the relationship between a body and its environment. How do we transform a space when we step into it? Can a space have a consciousness of its own intentionally effecting our experiences and behaviors? Watch as a symbiotic relationship builds between dancer and room in Mood Room.
A Hawkinsdance Film Series in association with Go Do. Productions.
